When people get acupuncture, they don’t always think about how it can help their kids’ health. In a lot of my patients’ cases… it’s even saved them.
It’s hard to watch your kids go through sickness and pain. It’s even harder to not know what to do to help them. Sometimes western medicine isn’t enough to get their health back on track.
Acupuncture isn’t just for adults, it can help your kids with their allergies, pain, recurring sicknesses, and more.

Asthma
Asthma is a chronic lung disease that makes it hard to breathe, even causing wheezing and tightness in the chest. Many children suffer from asthma and may need a nebulizer for assistance breathing during asthma attacks.
In Chinese Medicine, this occurs because of an imbalance in the lungs and kidneys. Restoring proper energy flow to these areas will allow for healthy breathing and ease asthma symptoms.
OHM Acupuncture has helped multiple children overcome asthma and even get off their nebulizers.
One patient had asthmatic symptoms from the time they were a baby and consistently needed nebulizer treatments. After care in our clinic, their symptoms subsided, and the nebulizer was no longer needed.
Persistent Strep
Strep is a common bacterial illness that’s highly contagious and painful. Some people continue to catch strep repeatedly, indicating a weakened immune system.
One of our pediatric patients had strep constantly – it got so bad that his parents considered removing his tonsils. You might view the tonsils as an unnecessary organ, but they’re the first line of defense against bacteria and viruses. Many people who get their tonsils removed report struggling with chronic respiratory diseases well into adulthood.
After using acupressure to treat his weakened immune system, he stopped getting strep altogether. 5 years later and his mother reported that he hadn’t caught strep once since receiving care at OHM Acupuncture.
Allergies
Allergies are our specialty, even when it comes to kids. OHM Acupuncture has helped hundreds of kids reverse their allergies altogether.
Allergies typically arise from an imbalance in the immune system. When the energy that controls the way it works becomes blocked, your cells will begin to attack themselves.
One of our toughest allergy patients involved a young boy who began having food allergies at 6 weeks old. He would develop rashes on his cheeks so severe they would bleed after breastfeeding.
His mother saw doctor after doctor that suggested extensive food elimination diets to the point where she would only eat rice and vegetables. It provided some relief, but the rashes never went away completely.
Other doctors suggested steroid creams, but she felt uncomfortable using these on her baby’s sensitive skin. She felt they were running out of options and became tired of the incredibly restrictive diet.
She researched NAET, an acupuncture technique used to reverse allergies and discovered our clinic. She was surprised she didn’t need to continue restricting food during care and felt excited to resume a normal diet.
After 8 treatments her son’s rashes went away completely. She was able to eat a completely unrestricted diet and breastfeed her son without triggering his allergies.
Pain
Whether they’re playing sports or taking a tumble, kids can get injured easily. The same pain relief you get from acupuncture can provide your children relief too.
